Festival Dog Show – Why not enter your furry friend into the Festival Dog show? This much anticipated annual event is keenly contested and run in aid of the Merseyside Retired Greyhound Trust. Categories include best puppy, waggiest tail and best in show.
Scarecrow Competition – Local traders are invited to let their imagination run wild and use their skill to create an eye catching competition winning scarecrow. This year’s theme is ‘Harry Potter’.
From Saturday 24th June to Friday 30th June scarecrows will be displayed outside each participating shop. This year the Festival Committee will be judging the scarecrows as they are displayed ‘in situ’. This to recognise the efforts that many participating businesses go to in creating excellent window displays which are not able to be transported to the Festival Field.
On Friday 30th June the scarecrows will be moved to the Festival Field where public voting will take place over Saturday and Sunday until the count on Sunday afternoon. The winners will be announced at 3pm.
