
Dr Jazz and the Cheshire Cats

The cool cats are back at the Festival with their fantastic big band sound. This is Jazz as it’s meant to be heard. Performed by the finest big band in the north of England, with a reputation for innovative performance.
Performing a wide range of quality music including numbers by Count Basie, Woody Herman, Buddy Rich, Glen Miller and Duke Ellington. Plus songs made famous by Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack.
This is sure to be an excellent opening to the Festival calendar!

The Concert
Time: 7.30pm
Venue: St Thomas’s Church
A Feast for all music lovers. An evening of traditional and light classical music performed in the splendid acoustical setting of St Thomas’s church.
We begin the evening with Vocal Infinity, Warrington’s newest, exciting a cappella ladies choir. To be followed with a group of musicians from Warrington Youth Orchestra and concluding with the famous Dotted Crotchets string quartet from Manchester.
Three fantastic acts all rolled into one, and all performing for the first time at the Festival.

Comedy Night @ The Cape

Storytelling

Venue: Stockon Heath Library
Fairy tales and magic lands, myths and legends and happy endings… everyone loves a good story! Suitable for all small children as well as big ones.

Art Exhibition

Venue: Grappenhall Independent Methodist
Talented local artists exhibit their work. Vote for your favourite. There will also be a chance to buy original work.

Warrington at Work
Time: 2pm
Venue: Stockton Heath Scout Centre
Join Janice Hayes from Warrington Museum for an illustrated talk and see fascinating photos of the working lives of Warrington people over the last 150 years.

Scarecrow Trail
Time: All Day
The scarecrows will be returning to the village for their weekend on the town. Look out for your favourite. Voting slips are in the Post Office, Sainsburys and the Co-op.
