The Festival is a community event, with many local venues – including the library – hosting activities throughout the Festival. Many events are free or for a nominal amount.

Friday 30th June

  • 3:30pm to 4:30pm: Design your own magnet using Pixel Art (free event). Create your own pixel art square which will then be printed and placed on a magnet for you to take home. This event is aimed at children aged 6-10 years old.

Saturday 1st July

From 9:30am to 4pm: Open day: The library will be open and offering a wide variety of free events.

Short Stories and Poems: Members of the Stockton Heath Writers Group will be reading some of their short stories and poems. Bring along your favourite poem or short story and join in. Or come along to just relax and listen. This will be free and informal and entertaining session.

  • 11am to 12 noon.

Murder They Wrote: Three authors, Carol Bissett, Liz Hedgecock and Mike Jackson will discuss how they murder people (in their books!) As well as reading extracts from the various murder mystery books they have written, they will also chat about different murder methods and their advantages and disadvantages, why they write murder mysteries and what inspires them. They promise to make the session entertaining rather than gruesome!

  • 2.30-3.30 pm.

Thank you to the library and the participants for hosting these activities.
